Rockland: Russell L. Stanley Sr., 43, of Sussex, Wisc., died May 17 at his home because of an accident. He was a former resident of Rockland Clark Island.
He was born at Portland Feb. 15, 1928, the son of Clifford and Myrtle M. Stanley.
While living in Maine he graduated from Knox County Flight School at Ash Point. He was employed as a maintenance man at a Wisconsin quarry at the time of his death.
Besides his mother of Rockland he is survived by his wife, Vera B. Stanley; four sons, Russell, Jr., in the US Army, stationed in Turkey, and Richard, Victor and Timothy, all of Sussex; three brothers, Charles, Lawrence and John all of Rockland; and five sisters, Norma Cannata of Dania, Fla., Patricia Pease of Appleton, Ethelyn Philbrook of Willimantic, Conn., Phyllis Stanley of Rockland; one grandson, Walter Stanley of Fort Devens; seven nephews and three nieces.
Funeral services will be held at Schmitt's Funeral Home Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Monnomonie Falls, Wisc.
