175. Ida Aurilla Bridges was born on 31 August 1882 in Swan's Island, Hancock County, Maine, USA. She was in Burnham & Morrill Company. Employed for over 25 years. She died on 28 November 1955 in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine, USA. Mrs. Ida A. Gordon, widow of Elmer E. Gordon, died Sunday at her residence, 8 Front St., after a brief illness. She was born on Swan's Island, daughter of the late James and Sarah V. Bridges. Educated in Minton schools, she came here about 30 years ago and had been matron at Burnham and Morrill Co. for about 25 years. Mrs. Gordon was a member of the Washington Avenue Methodist Church, Corner Stone Chapter, OES and White Shrine of Jerusalem, Portland, and the Daughters of Rebekah and the Pocahontas, Swan's Island. Her husband died in 1951. Surviving are a son, Norman E. Gordon, Westbrook; a granddaughter, Norma E. Gordon, Westbrook; five brothers, James Bridges, Addison, Maynard, Alton,and Stanley Bridges all of Portland, and Dallas Bridges, Flint Mich.; six sisters, Mrs. Lilla Moulden, Swan's Island, Mrs. Carrie McDonald, Stonington, Mrs. James Morton and Mrs. Theodore Scovill, both of Portland; Mrs. Beulah Michaud, Kennebunkport and Mrs. Amanda McBride, Lynn, Mass.; her step-mother, Mrs. Maude Bridges, Portland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at her home. The Rev. Nelson Canfield will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Falmouth. Ida was buried in Grindle Hill cemetery, Swan's Island.

Ida Aurilla Bridges and Elmer Ellsworth Gordon were married on 3 August 1901 in Swan's Island, Hancock County, Maine, USA. Married by Rev. Fred V. Stanley. Elmer Ellsworth Gordon was born on 27 November 1875 in Gouldsboro, Hancock County, Maine, USA. He died on 22 October 1951 in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine, USA. He was a Carpenter & contractor with 'Googins & clark. Elmer was buried in Pine Grove cemetery, Falmouth.
