SOUTHWEST HARBOR - Wilfred M. Dunham, 82, died Feb. 15, 2001, at Bar Harbor Hospital. He was born Nov. 10, 1918, at Atlantic on Swans Island, the son of Grover C. and Bessie (Joyce) Dunham. Wilfred worked for Rich's Begonia business until 1942 when he moved to Southwest Harbor to work at Hinckley Boat Company for the next 43 years. He was a member of the Southwest Harbor Congregational Church. Wilfred was a kind, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His greatest pleasure was doing things for his family and church, where his woodworking hobby was used. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Celia (Farley) Dunham; one son, Lawrence W. Dunham and wife, Nancy of Auburn; two grandsons, Mark Dunham and wife, Wanda of Greene and Darold Dunham and wife, Melissa of Auburn; three great-grandsons, Kyle, Kristopher and Joshua Dunham of Greene; two cousins and his church family and many friends. Wilfred was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Edna Kenniston. Friends are invited to call 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at Fernald Funeral Chapel, Mt. Desert. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, at the Southwest Harbor Congregational Church, High Road, Southwest Harbor, with the Rev. Richard Carter officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Wilfred's memory may be made to the Southwest Harbor Congregational Church, P.O. Box 727, Southwest Harbor 04679 or to the MDI Hospital, Administrations Office, P.O. Box 8, Bar Harbor 04609.
Wilford was buried in Mt. Height cemetery, Southwest Harbor. Wilford Manson Dunham and Celia J. Farley were married on 23 September 1939 in Swan's Island, Hancock County, Maine, USA. Celia J.
