ROCKLAND - Janet M. Ripley, 73, of Rockland, passed away April 3, 2005, at home, with her family by her side. She was born Dec. 18, 1931, in Frenchboro, the daughter of Elmer and Ella (Tinker) Davis. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sisters, Arlene Watson and Dorothy Colbeth. Janet is survived by her husband of 54 years, Francis M. Ripley; two sons, Gary R. Ripley and wife, Georgia, and Dennis F. Ripley and wife, Debbie; three grandchildren, Gary R. Ripley Jr., Kevin Ripley, and Kendra Ripley; her brothers and sisters, Freida Smith and husband, Wendell, of Lincolnville, Ramona Turner and companion, Robert Norwood, of Southwest Harbor, Raymond Davis and wife, Nancy, of Lamoine, Margaret Parkhurst of Chelmsford, Mass., Robert Davis and wife, Danielle, of Southwest Harbor, Juanita Twigg and husband, Eric, of Southwest Harbor, Joanne Sholty of Peru, Ind., and Maureen Meyer of Humble, Texas. Arrangements are private under the care of Cremation Services of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
