Staples who was drowned while sword fishing at Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, were held August 22, 1934 at the Burpee Funeral Parlors. His death was a shock to many friends awith whom he came in contact as a fisherman. The deceased was born at Swan's Island. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Staples of Rockland; two sisters, Mrs. Woodbury Snow of Rockland and Mrs. George E. Bigelow of Stores, Conn,; eight children, Mrs. Algie McCorrison and Charles Staples of Portland, Mrs. Helen Mason, Mrs. Mildred Edwards and Rita, Merle, Lester and Eugene Staples of Rockland. Interment was at Sea View cemetery, Rev. L. G. Perry officiating. He was buried in Sea View cemetery, Rockland.
