105. James Raymond Bridges was born on 3 February 1900 in Swan's Island, Hancock County, Maine, USA. He served in the military in US Coast Guard. US Coast Guard for 30 years. He was a Lighthouse keeper at Addison. James died on 6 May 1960 in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, USA. JAMES BRIDGES Addison, May 6; James R. Bridges, 60, of Addison died Wednesday in a Bangor hospital following a brief illness. He was born at Swan's Island February 3, 1900, the son of James and Viola (Pray) Bridges. Bridges was in the US Coast Guard for 30 years, during which he served in World Wars I and II. Following his retirement from the Coast Guard, he was employed for six years as a janitor at the Stephen S. Nash School in Addison. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the West Washington Pomona Grange, and the Independent Order of Redmen. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Minnie Bridges of Addison; one daughter, Mrs. Philmore Norton of Augusta; three sisters, Mrs. Carrie McDonald of Stonington, Mrs. James Martin of Portland, Mrs. Lillan Malden of Swan's Island; three brothers, Alton and Maynard, both of Portland and Dillas of Michigan. Funeral services will be held from the Union Church at South Addison Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Elder Willis O. Foss of Machias officiating. The firing squad from Buck's Harbor Air Force station will be present. Interment will be in the Look cemetery at East Addison. He was buried in Look cemetery, East Addison. Mother died following his birth. Raised by his Uncle Albion and Aunt Dorcas (Dark) Smith. James Raymond Bridges and Minnie Norton were married on 30 September. By Rev. Arthur F. Pedler.
