Belfast: Raymond L. Torrey, M.D., 87, died May 3, 1984, at his residence in Belfast. He was born on Swan's Island, March 19, 1897, the son of Levi and Daisey (Joyce) Torrey. He was a veteran of World War I. He had practiced medicine in Searsport for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodges, both of Searsport, the American Medical Association, the Waldo County Medical Association, and a former member of the staff of the Waldo County General Hospital of Belfast. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Adelaide B. (Howard) Torrey of Belfast; two sons, Dr. Howard L. Torrey of New York City, N.Y., and Roger M. Torrey of Brooks; two daughters, Mrs. Adeline Small of Belfast and Margaret Ione Dakin of Westbrook; one sister, Doris Robinson of Burlington, Vt.; eight grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and one cousin. Funeral services will be at Rackliffe Funeral Home, Belfast. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, Belfast. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home 7-8 p.m. Friday.
