173. Theo Eldie Tainter was born on 25 July 1915 in Swan's Island, Hancock County, Maine, USA. She was adopted. She died on 23 October 2006 at the age of 91 in Brewer, Penobscot County, Maine, USA. BUCKSPORT - Theo A. (Tainter) Hackney, 91, died Oct. 23, 2006, at a Brewer nursing facility. She was born July 28, 1915, on Swans Island, daughter of Blanchard and Lucy (Smith) Tainter. Mrs. Hackney was predeceased by her parents at an early age and was raised by Calvin and Laura Stinson of Swans Island. She was a member of the Franklin Street United Methodist Church and the Order of Easter Star Felicity Chapter No. 195, both of Bucksport. Mrs. Hackney is survived by a beloved granddaughter, Heidi Theo Hackney; great-granddaughter, Brittany Leigh; son, Charles C. "Butch" Hackney, all of Bucksport; two daughters, Patricia Culver and husband, Earl, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Brenda J. Hackney of Bucksport; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William D. Hackney in 1951; two brothers, Kenneth Tainter and Ernest Watling; and sister, Audrey E. Harding. A graveside funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Riverview Cemetery, Bucksport, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to Ronald McDonald House of Bangor, 654 State St., Bangor, ME 04401-5649. Arrangements by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. Theo was buried on 25 October 2006 in Riverview cemetery, Bucksport, Maine. Raised by her mother's sister, Laura Smith & her husband Calvin Stinson following parents death from 1918 flu.
