Bluehill, November 17 - A bullet fired at a deer by Game Warden Wilbur Ricker at 6:15 this morning, struck his father-in-law, William Babson, 42, who died three hours later at the Bluehill Hospital as a result of the wound.
Deputy Sheriff Henry Mahon, who investigated, said Ricker stationed Babson on a runway and that the latter apparently left the spot. Sometime later Ricker sighted a deer and fired at the animal, which was on a straight line between the two men, and the bullet hit Babson.
Babson was the senior member of the plumbing firm of Babson and Duffy.
