181. Charles Raymond Joyce Sr. was born on 22 October 1900 in Swan's Island, Hancock County, Maine, USA. He died on 15 July 1958 at the age of 57 in Newton Center, Massachusetts, USA. Tremont, July 15; Charles R. Joyce, 57, died at Newton, Mass., Saturday.
He was born on Swan's Island, the son of George and Rosa Burns Joyce.
Surviving are his widow, Lessie (Bridges) Joyce of Newton Centre; a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Durkin of Concord, N. H.; and four sons, Charles Joyce, Jr. of Branford, Conn., Weston of Amarillo, Texas, and Lyle and Paul of Newton Centre.
Funeral services will be held from West Tremont Methodist Church at 3:30 Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Paul Weimer of the Tremont Larger Parish will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Heights Cemetery, Southwest Harbor.
Bearers will be the four sons. He was buried in Mt. Height cemetery, Southwest Harbor.

Charles Raymond Joyce Sr. and Lessie Emmeline Bridges were married on 14 March 1925 in Swan's Island, Hancock County, Maine, USA. Lessie Emmeline Bridges, daughter of Fred E. Bridges and Arabella Rumill, was born on 2 October 1902 in West Tremont, Hancock County, Maine. She died on 5 April 1994 at the age of 91 in Newington, Connecticut, USA. She was buried in Hill Rest cemetery, West Tremont.

Lyle Kenyon Joyce was born on 25 May 1934 in Portland, Cumberland County, Maine, USA. He was educated in Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts. He was educated in Wesleyan University, Connecticut. Lyle died on 19 March 2006 at the age of 71 in Weston, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA. LYLE KENYON JOYCE
NATICK, Mass. and WEST TREMONT - Lyle Kenyon Joyce, 71, died March 19, 2006, in Weston, Mass. He was born May 25, 1934, in Portland, the son of Charles Raymond and Lessie (Bridges) Joyce. Lyle earned degrees from Boston University and Wesleyan University in Connecticut. He subsequently obtained a doctorate of education at the University of Northern Colorado. After having taught several years in public school systems, he moved on to teach earth science at Miami Dade Junior College for three years and at Central Connecticut State University for 24 years. The family lived in the South Portland area until 1950, at which time they moved to Newton, Mass. Lyle had one sister and three brothers two of whom have survived him, Weston and Paul. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to visit 10-11 a.m. Friday, March 24, at Head of the Harbor Church in Bass Harbor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wayne Buchanan officiating. After the service interment will be at Hill Rest Cemetery, West Tremont. Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert.
He was buried on 24 March 2006 in Hill Rest cemetery, West Tremont. He was a Teacher.
