Swan's Island: Mrs. Lucy R. Smith, 84, widow of Judson Smith, died Tuesday at her home following a long illness.
Born at Swan's Island, Aug 1, 1885, she was the daughter of James and Ella (Bridges) McKay.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Bernice Sprague; one son, Harry of Bernard; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Joyce of Swan's Island and Mrs. Bertha Buote of Inyokern, California.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Swan's Island Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce Mathewson officiating. Burial will be in Grindle Hill Cemetery at Swan's Island.
Friends may call at her residence Wednesday afternoon and evening. She was buried on 5 February 1970 in Grindle Hill cemetery, Swan's Island.

He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Myron (Bernice) Sprague, Sr. of Swan's Island; two nieces, Mrs., Lucinda Lowell of Dexter and Mrs. Deborah Hersey of Presque Isle; two nephews, Myron Sprague, Jr. of Swan's Island and Daniel Sprague of Charleston; nine great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at the Swan's Island United Methodist Church with the Rev. Allan Mather officiating. Friends may visit Fernald Funeral Chapel Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Grindle Hill Cemetery, Swan's Island. Harry was buried on 12 October 1980 in Grindle Hill cemetery, Swan's Island. Unmarried. Lived on Swan's Island and Bass Harbor.
