Atlantic, Swan's Island: Keith W. Joyce, 60, died July 21 at a Mount Desert Island hospital. He was born at Atlantic, Oct. 4, 1916, son of Chester and Bessie Herrick Joyce. A Veteran of World War II, he saw service in the Pacific. Surviving are: his wife, Charlotte of Atlantic; three step-daughters, Mrs. Gloria Bickford of Bucksport, Mrs. Sheila Smith of North Carolina, and Mrs. Rosemary Hersey of North Reading, Mass.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, a brother, Roy of Atlantic; three sisters, Gladys Joyce and Marguerite Staples, both of Atlantic, and Alice Burns of Swan's Island; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Atlantic Baptist Church with the Rev. Malcolm McDuffie, Jr. and Rev. Thomas Bullard officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Atlantic, with arrangements by the Fernald Funeral Chapel of Mount Desert.

Keith William Joyce and Charlotte Daisy Matthews were married on 27 October 1973 in Swan's Island, Hancock County, Maine, USA. Charlotte Daisy Matthews, daughter of Benjamin Mason Matthews and Laura Belle Black, was born on 18 March 1921 in Swan's Island, Hancock County, Maine, USA. She died on 12 January 1991 at the age of 69 in Bar Harbor, Hancock County, Maine, USA. She was buried in Rose Hill cemetery, Atlantic. Was she known by the knickname of 'Dora'?
