She died on 11 April 2002 in Bar Harbor, Hancock County, Maine, USA. BASS HARBOR - Esther Moore Trask died peacefully, at a Bar Harbor health-care facility, April 11, 2002. She was born Aug. 13, 1909, on Gotts Island, the daughter of Philip and Lavina Joyce Moore. She graduated from Pemetic High School in Southwest Harbor in 1927 and from the University of Maine at Orono in 1932. She also attended Husson College and obtained a masters degree from the University of Maine. She taught at Pemetic, Edward Little, Mount Desert (in Northeast Harbor) and South Bristol High Schools. She married C. Orville Trask of Tremont in 1940. After retiring from teaching, she was an elected tax assessor in Tremont from 1971 to 1991, chairing the tax assessors board from 1980 to 1991. She is survived by her five children, Muriel Davisson of Bass Harbor, George Trask of Woolwich, C. Brian Trask of Champaign, Ill., Emily Trask-Eaton of Waldoboro and Philip Trask of Weeks Mills; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband, Orville; her sisters, Ruth Moore and Louise Moore Dow; and her brother, Harvey Moore. A memorial reception will be held June 8. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Bass Harbor Memorial Library or the Abbe Museum. Arrangements by Fernald Funeral Chapel, Mt. Desert.
