Swan's Island: Carroll T. Staples, 64, died May 12 at his home here following a long illness.
He was born in Minturn Oct. 23, 1906, the son of Warren and Lottie (Stanley) Staples. He was a self-employed lobster fisherman.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Phyllis Joyce Staples, Swan's Island; one son, Joseph W. of Swan's Island; one brother, Burleigh of Bristol; one sister; Mrs. Cora Paige of Boothbay Harbor; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Advent Christian Church, Swan's Island with the Rev. Roland Lord officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Swan's Island. Carroll was buried on 14 May 1970 in Rose Hill cemetery, Atlantic.
