Swan's Island: Charles M. Rowe, 83, died Thursday in a Bar Harbor hospital.
He was born here Sept. 25, 1885, the son of Eugene and Ethelena (Pray) Rowe.
He was a member of the Pentacostal Church on Swan's Island.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lillian (Grindle) Rowe of here; three sisters, Mrs. Maud Bridges of here, Mrs. Delia Johnson and Mrs. Inez Ames, both of Rockland; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be Saturday at noon in the Swan's Island Methodist Church with the Rev. Clifford Crabtree officiating. Burial will be in Grindle Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Fernald Funeral Chapel, Mount Desert, Friday afternoon. Charlie was buried on 19 July 1969 in Grindle Hill cemetery, Swan's Island.

Swan's Island: Mrs. Lillian O. Rowe, 84, widow of Charles Rowe, died April 28 at a Bar Harbor nursing home. She was born in Bar Harbor Nov. 22, 1890, daughter of Rudolph and Mary (Young) Grindle. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Neva Warren of North Ellsworth and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Fernald Funeral Chapel in Mount Desert with commital services at 1 p.m. at Grindle Hill Cemetery on Swan's Island. She was buried on 1 May 1975 in Grindle Hill cemetery, Swan's Island. No children.
