Descendents of Swan's Island's James Joyce

This summary has been derived from information in Dr. H. W. Small's 'History of Swan's Island' published in 1898.
James Joyce came to Swan's Island from Deer Isle in 1806. He had moved from Marshfield, Massachusetts to Majorbagaduce (Now Castine) near Brooksville and then to Deer Isle. Mr. Joyce and his family moved into the house recently vacated by Swan's Agent, Joseph Prince, and later to the 'Big House'. He later moved to the Eastern side of the island and cleared land for cultivation.
