Knowlton, was born on 16 September 1927 in Stonington, Hancock County, Maine, USA. He was educated in 1945 in Stonington High School. He died on 28 December 2008 at the age of 81 in Deer Isle, Hancock County, Maine, USA. Collis A. Jones Stonington - Collis A. Jones, 81, died December 27, 2008 at a Deer Isle healthcare facility. He was born September 16, 1927 in Stonington the son of William and Evelyn (Knowlton) Jones. Collis was a valedictorian of his class in 1945, and a United States Army Veteran. He was a lifelong fisherman known locally for his fish filleting skills. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Bernice Jones, eight children; David, Donald and his wife Susan, Bruce and his wife Sandra all of Stonington, Brent and his wife Arlene of Deer Isle, Kerry of Stonington, Kandis and her husband Conrad Myers of San Antonio, Texas, Ellen and her husband Arthur Weeks of Naples, and Phillip of Stonington, Five step children, Joan and her husband Tim Torrey of Hancock, David Dyer, Craig Dyer, Wayne Dyer and his wife Irene all of Sedgwick, Lisa and Stephen Ciomei of Old Town, 26 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and one great great grand daughter, one brother Herbert Jones and his wife Colleen of Stonington, and a sister Vera Billings of Deer Isle, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Muriel (Black) Jones, a grandson Jeffery Jones, a great granddaughter Hannah Wardwell, daughter-in-law Charlene Jones, and infant brother Harold Jones.
