Cornish, 78, died July 7, 2011, in St. Cloud, Fla. He was born Oct. 6, 1932, in Bath, the son of Dwinal E. Cornish and Marguerite Williams Cornish. He graduated from Morse High School and attended classes at General Motors Institute. He was an automobile dealer and general manager of several GM dealerships and recently an automotive consultant. He served many years as a Knox County deputy sheriff and as a Camden Police Department officer. He served in the U.S. Army as a noncommissioned officer during the Korean War. He was a member of the Camden Lions Club, serving as its president and as a Deputy District Governor and Zone Chairman of Lions International as well as a member of Amity Lodge of Masons, Camden, Scottish Rite Bodies of Maine and Kora Temple Shrine. He was a member of War Memorial Post 30, Camden. He was a former member of the Law Enforcement of Maine and served as president of the Mid Coast Chapter. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of St. Cloud, Fla.; daughters, Michelle Cornish of Warren and Sandra Muse and her husband, Andrew, of Effort, Pa.; six grandchildren, Daniel and Cassandra Wiley, and Andrew, Zachary, Joshua and Jacob Muse; one great-granddaughter, Hailey Hutchinson; his sisters, Christel Cornish of Bath and Carol Pinkham of Rockport; and two nephews. As per his request there will be no services. He was educated in Morse High School. Carl was buried in Rose Hill cemetery, Atlantic. Marilyn Erlene White-4571 and Carl D.
