Swan's Island: Nelson Roosevelt White, 75, of Swan's Island died April 11 at a Rockport hospital. He was born July 11, 1901, in Tremont, the son of Charles and Phebe Farley White. He is survived by his wife, Leila of Swan's Island; one son, Randal of Bangor; two daughters, Mrs. Catherine Cosenge of Milford and Mrs. Marilyn Cornish of Rockport; one sister, Mrs. Georgia Weaton of Town Hill; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of World War I, and a fifty-year American Legion member. He also was a member of the Swan's Island Odd Fellows. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Atlantic Baptist Church, Swan's Island. Brial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Atlantic. If friends desire, they may make contributions in his memory to the Swan's Island churches. Arrangements are by the Fernald Funeral Chapel, Mount Desert.
