Rockland: Emerson Sadler, 82, died Aug 25, at his Suffolk Street home in Rockland.
He was born Feb. 22, 1888 at Swan's Island, the son of Charles and Ann (Steward) Sadler.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War I and in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II, retiring in 1946 as a Lieutenant. Between the world wars he served on lighthouse tenders as a marine engineer, holding an unlimited license.
He was a 50-year member of the Rockland Lodge of Masons, Scottish Rite bodies, Golden Rod Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Winslow-Holbrook-Merritt Post of the American Legion.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jennie (Brown) Sadler of Rockland; a son, Robert E. Sadler of Rockland; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Burpee Funeral Home, Rockland, with the Rev. Charles R. Montieth officiating. Burial will be in Achorn Cemetery, Rockland. He was buried in Achorn cemetery, Rockland.

Lt. (Ret) Emerson Sadler and Jennie Brown were married. Jennie Brown died after May 1970. She was buried in Achorn cemetery, Rockland.
