1. Cushing Stewart was born on 26 August 1795 in Scotland, UK. Reportedly born at Fox Island of Scotish parents (Charles Stewart). He served in the military in War of 1812. He died on 8 May 1837 in Rockland, Knox County, Maine, USA. Died aboard a vessel in Rockland harbor. Came from North Haven to Swan's Island in 1822, and settled at the North.. Had lived at Mt. Desert several years.
