1. Capt. Benjamin Stinson Esq. was born on 21 January 1790 in Deer Isle, Hancock County, Maine, USA.1 Also reported as 10 January 1788. In 1837 he was in Representative to State Legislature. He was a Second Postmaster on Swan's Island. He was the first local person serving as post master. Benjamin died on 3 May 1867 in Swan's Island, Hancock County, Maine, USA. He was buried in Grindle Hill cemetery, Swan's Island. Moved from Stonington to Swan's Island about 1810. Took up a lot of 240 acres near Seal Cove. Moved for a short time to Exeter, returning to Swan's Island.

Capt. Benjamin Stinson Esq. and Sarah B. Smith were married on 3 January 1811 in Swan's Island, Hancock County, Maine, USA. Sarah B. Smith was born on 31 August 1792 in Swan's Island, Maine, USA (Harbor Island). She died on 5 August 1866 in Swan's Island, Hancock County, Maine, USA. She was buried in Grindle Hill cemetery, Swan's Island.
