Peter and Charity Gott

eter Gott, son of Stephen Sr. and Eunice (Emmons) Gott, was born November 17, 1745 at Cape Ann, Massachusetts, died March 31, 1839 at Swan’s Island, Maine and was buried at the ‘Valley’ Cemetery.

Peter married Charity Cain, a widow in 1776 at Mount Desert, Maine.

harity Carter was born about 1745, and died before 1821 and was buried at the ‘Valley’ Cemetery at Swan’s Island.

Peter and Charity had eleven children.

S

amuel Gott, son of Peter and Charity (Carter) Gott, was born July 6, 1785, died two years later in 1787 and may be buried at the ‘Valley’ Cemetery.

E

lizabeth Gott, daughter of Peter and Charity (Carter) Gott, was born August 23, 1791, died in 1791 and may be buried at the ‘Valley’ Cemetery.

Following Charity’s death, Peter married Hannah (Norwood) Gott, widow of his cousin, Daniel Gott on October 6, 1821.

Hannah died at Gott’s Island and is likely buried there.
